NDSU vs. Minnesota State University-Moorhead – October 3, 2007

On a cool dreary night in Fargo, the North Dakota State Bison looked to defeat their cross town rivals the Dragons of Minnesota State University Moorhead.  The Bison were looking to use their 6-1 victory over the Dragons earlier in the season as motivation to beat MSUM.  However, this would turn out to be a totally different game.  With the Bison again missing 4 defensive players and midfielders, the game would be a battle for the entire first half.  However, neither team could notch a goal and the first half finished scoreless.

In the second half the Bison decided to play a bit more offensive and put pressure on the Dragon defense.  They would be rewarded in the 78th minute.  Brad Bateman took a corner kick and shot it hard to Rob Choiniere who tapped in into the back of the net from about 2 yards out.  Unfortunately, the lead would only last about 3 minutes.  After a corner kick from the Dragons, NDSU's lazy marking and poor communication allowed an MSUM forward to shoot it past Tom Erickson for the 1-1 tie.  This score would hold up the rest of the game leaving the Bison extremely disappointed and frustrated.  Both teams' records are now even in every sense of the word at 3-3-3.
