NDSU at Augustana College – September 30, 2007

The Bison finished their road trip in Sioux Falls, South Dakota taking on the Vikings of Augustana College.  With NDSU banged up from their first game of the weekend and missing several key players, the Vikings were able to score in the 13th minute.  After a through ball to a Viking forward that appeared to be offside, the attacker put the ball past Tom Erickson for the first goal of the game.  This score would last for the rest of the first half with both teams playing tough.

In the second half of the game, the injury bug started to plague the Bison, with 2 players going down to injury.  NDSU’s closest chance at a goal came in the 80th minute.  Forward Luanga Njoya took a shot from 20 yards out, hit the post, then bounced off the Augustana goal keeper and somehow bounced over the goal.  The Bison would control the play for the rest of the half and have many scoring opportunities.  However, the game would end in a 1-0 Augustana victory. The loss dropped the Bison's record to 3-3-2 while the conference-leading Vikings improved to 6-1-0.
