NDSU vs. South Dakota School of Mines & Technology – September 11, 2005

The Bison set a school record for goals in a game in a blowout over SDSMT in an 18-2 rout.  The game was never in doubt, as the Bison (obviously) put together their best offensive game of the year against a fatigued SDSMT team, who was playing its second game of the day and third road contest of the weekend.  NDSU cruised to an 11-2 halftime lead; both blemishes against them came due to poor communication in the defense and from the goalkeeper leading to SDSMT breakaways.  Forwards Nathan Shubert and Eric Stanley scored 5 goals each in the contest, both finishing the game with a team-leading 6 total goals on the season.  Dan Montplasir tallied the first two goals of his collegiate career with his most impressive outing of the season.  Selam Ahmed, Pat Beaver, Brad Bateman, Fernando Bales, Thomas Larson and Dmitri Barabanov all chipped in with a goal each in the contest.  The record-setting victory upped NDSU’s record to 2-0-2, as the SDSMT team dropped their 4th straight to fall to 1-4-0 on the season.
