NDSU vs. Minnesota-Maroon – October 3, 2004

NDSU was able to split their weekend series with the University of Minnesota teams by handing the Gophers’ Maroon team their first loss of the season. The Bison played another excellent game and came away with a 3-1 road victory. NDSU started the game very well and got on the scoreboard first 8 minutes into the game. Tim Pofahl made a run up the field and sent a great pass to Nathan Shubert to give the Bison a 1-0 lead. NDSU didn’t let up as Shubert tallied his second goal of the game 15 minutes later thanks to an excellent crossing pass from Pat Beaver. Minnesota Maroon battled back in the second half and scored a goal, but the Bison would not allow the Gophers to get back into the game. Pat Beaver finished the Gophers off with a goal midway into the second half. The impressive victory upped the Bison’s record to 4-3 while dropping the U of M Maroon’s record to 4-1-2.
